Background delivers inspiration for Pellston mural project

2 min read

PELLSTON — Classic postcards and regional imagery will serve as inspiration for a huge-scale mural task established to acquire spot in Pellston this month.

Mary Rapin, from Bliss Gardens Farm and Local community Kitchen area, stated she initially introduced the idea of portray a mural to the village council.

“I’ve seen them in other communities and see they deliver a particular amount of desire and life to a community,” Rapin mentioned. “It just seemed like a good challenge to do in Pellston.”

Adhering to approval by the council, Rapin contacted the Crooked Tree Arts Center and spoke with instructor Äbby Kent, who has experience in portray murals. She earlier restored a “ghost indicator” in downtown Petoskey. On top of that, Household Depot will deliver the paint and supplies at no charge and Dylan Cook dinner, a Pellston graduate and community artist, has also supplied his aid.
